The
Kuwaiti tournament team was outstanding. From Adel who kept an eye
on everything and everybody, the wonderful twins (they introduced
themselves as such, Hello, this is Twins, when they call you, and say
that although their mum can differentiate them, their dad cant
),
Khaled, the IT man, and all the others, we have been spoiled for care
and support.
His
highness Sheikh Khaled Al Youself Al Sabah, chairman of the
Salmiya Club, who was extremely present during the whole tournament,
and even helped out sorting out the seating when we transferred the finals
to the Club, making sure that everybody (me included) got a seat
Unbelievable. |
Yes,
a pretty incredible week due to the unpredictability of the weather. My
hat to all involved, and in particular to Robert, who had the delicate
task of taking the decision to move the game to the club, and on the final
night, it was not an easy one.
But as the rain went on pouring on that evening and the next day, history
tells that the Welsh man was right, yet again.
My
hat to the cameramen from Proactive, who succeeded to work in atrocious
condition at the club (Phil, Martin and Chris in particular), and to
Horizon, who had to move their equipment in no time, and were still able
to offer us an audio, better than a simple score board! |
And
of course, my hat to the finalists, who never complained, never said a
word. Not one drama queen outburst. Just getting on his their jobs.
Outstanding.
Im new on the circuit. Im discovering the up and downs of it all. But so
far, Im amazing, impressed, dazzled by the professionalism of all
involved.
I have so much to learn, and the will to do so.
See you in Canary Wharf
